Don’t overdo antibacterials

Triple-antibiotic ointments such as Neosporin are widely used first-aid remedies, but they might be causing a new drug-resistant strain of methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus, or MRSA, according to a recent study. That means the bugs those antibiotics are designed to kill are adapting and becoming resistant, which makes the antibiotics less effective against infections. So use an ointment fi you can see dirt or grit in the cut. But for a run-of-the-mill cut, washing it well with soap and water will give you all the protection you need.
